What the All Stars Resorts surrender to accommodate the economy minded guest, they make up for in friendly service and timely bus transportation to all things Disney. Located near Blizzard Beach Water Park and the Animal Kingdom, this trio of resorts offers all of the benefits of staying onsite – early entry, free transportation, and package delivery to the resort – at a rate more affordable for many. There are three themes amongst the All Star Resorts: Movies, Music, and Sports. Each area has larger than life icons in Disney style spread throughout the resort, creating a whimsical and enthusiastic sense of fun. This bright, energetic theming continues in the rooms. Appropriate music to the particular theme plays in the background of each resort. Amenities include:

  1. Large, well serviced food courts
  2. Two pools, one themed and one quiet, for each of the three resorts
  3. Shopping in the main building of each resort for souvenirs and sundries
  4. An arcade in each resort’s main building
  5. Well marked jogging paths

The rooms are 260 sq ft and sleep four (and a child under three). Most rooms have two double beds. Some have one king sized bed; these are ‘disabled access’ rooms and have no tubs. There is a limited pizza room service. While luggage service is available, it may take up to 30 minutes for delivery or pickup. Ironing boards, extra towels for the pool, etc are available by request.

Review of stay on 5/23/2010 by By:

I stayed at Sports last year. It was great! The pools were cool. The food was good. The only thing I didn't like was that the rooms could of been bigger. And the giant stuff like football helmets was great. I would go again but this year I'm going to Movies. Enjoy your stay!

first trip on 8/30/2009 by Jon

This was my first trip to WDW so had nothing to campare it to.  We were booked into the All Star Sports Basketball since others AS Resorts were full.  I am not a basketball fan at all but I thought the theme was very well done.  Although the our room was almost the furthest from the pool and main building, it was not as bad as what I gather it is at other resorts.  Pool was always clean and warm.  Main Building was clean and well organized.  Internal bus system was great except getting from Animal Kingdom to Dwontown Disney, but otherwise no compliants with it.

Loved that when we returned to resort in the evening we could stop at the gift shop and pick up our packages from day before then head to our room.  The housekeeper would always put my son's stuffed monkey in a location that made my son feel that is was welcoming him home.  Liked the way they decoratively folded the towels.  They brought us a new bottle of shampoo and soap every day even though we had not used up all that we had so now we are home with 7 bottles of shampoo that the smell brings back godd memories.  I tell people that Disney has butt kissing down to a science.  They really know that the people are what keeps it open and bend over backwards to show it.  i call housekeeping to ask that sometime during the day while we are at a park that they bring extra towels for swimming that night and within 5 minutes there was a knock on the door and a bag of towels hanging on the door knob.

My wife bought the cups for re-fill drinks for each of us and what a smart thing.  I had hot coffee each morning with a brisk walk and they got their energy drinks and then in the evening we refilled them with pop or whatever while we were at pool side.  I think the prices at the pool side bar for the size of drink you get was a bit high but we saved so much everywhere else (with DP and all) that i sprung for it one night.  The bartender was friendly and courteous and handled someone who clearly did not need anymore drinks with enough politeness i think the guy did not know what to think and staggered away confused.  Bartender must have taken a class on how to handle those types cause I do not know if I could have done it as well as he did.

Wife only had one complaint.  On the wall of the main building there was a series of pictures of sport heros and I forget who it was, but there was someone from the Superbowl Bears that was not there and boy, did I hear about that.  Prices at gift shops were what I expected.  i have read other reviews about resort food at other resorts and had no complaints what so ever.  My coment may sound like a complaint but not sure how else to express it.  For breakfast on last day we decided to use last DP QS at resort.  We were told to choose an entree and 2 drinks.  Why 2 drinks?  Why not 1 drink and something small on the side?  Why not see that we have the cups and offer us something small in exchange for the 2 drinks since we clearly have the drinks covered.  We each took 2 drinks and used our cups and simply packed the 2 drinks for the road trip home.

I am planing on going to WDW again and I am thinking of doing AS movies next time but will be fine if put into sports again.  I have done enough research on other resorts and as they obviously work better for some people, the value ones seem to work better for me.  If you are planning your first trip to WDW the use the value resorts and spend the money on other things that will add to your fun and then, while using the internal bus system, take a tour of the other resorts to see if you like the feel of the them for your next trip.  Trust me, I know.  It took me 12 years of marriage to give in to spending what I thought would be too much money on a trip and here I am 2 months after returning home planning my next one.

fun on 8/13/2005 by Susan:)

Not being a lover of sports, I did not expect to like this resort very much, but I was surprised. I liked it pretty well! The surfing section is fun, I loved the lifeguard chairs on the sides of the building. I also thought the football and baseball sections were fun. It is not my favorite theme, but if AS Music is full, Id stay here!
