Located in on the Yacht Club
side of the Yacht and Beach Club resort, the Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of the
'upscale' full service dining options at Walt Disney World. Upon entering
the restaurant, the first view is of the meat locker
If it wasn't clear this restaurant specializes in steak before, it will be by
the time you set your eyes on this room; >)
Appropriately, right next to the meat locker is
the open kitchen which we strolled by on our way to our table... We also
got to feast our eyes on the dessert selection
The seating is quite comfortable, and the art on
the walls is original. As you can see, it's a 'wild west' kind of
ambiance. The bread is a high point. We highly recommend it!
That's a roasted garlic spread next to a slab of butter.
We chose two salads. This one is called a
Farmer's Salad and - while interesting - it didn't quite meet our expectations
of "salad" The Beet Salad would have been perfect with more goat cheese;
The meal continued with our
entrees. Of course, steak was a almost a requirement at a Steakhouse,
This Filet Mignon got a 'good' rating, and the
potatoes rated an 'excellent'. The best entree, we both agreed, was the
Roasted Chicken. Triple YUM!
It was, in my humble opinion, perfect - moist, flavorful, and delightfully
enhanced by the risotto. I could eat this entree every night for a month,
I think; >) Dessert was a specially made sugar free Chocolate Mousse, and
it was the a great ending to an excellent meal!
Between the bread, entree, and
dessert, who needs salad anyway? Plan to spend between $30 and $60 per
person at this restaurant. We give the Yachtsman Steakhouse an OLP thumbs
