You can spend your entire vacation in Walt Disney World, and not get behind the wheel of a car once. Let someone else do the driving!
The buses within Walt Disney World are very reliable. There are some occasions when taking the bus is not convenient. At times like that, you can always take a taxi. You will find cabs available at the parks, and at the resorts. Most times you will not even have to wait. You won’t spend more then $20.00 for a cab ride and you will be at your destination in no time at all.
If you are leaving Epcot after Illuminations, it will be very hectic, and you may find long lines for your bus. You can avoid the lines by scooting out the back way of Epcot, though The United Kingdom, and out The International Gateway, which takes you to the Epcot resorts. Just follow the sidewalk, stay to the right, and your first resort will be the Beach Club. Walk through the lobby, and ask valet service to call you a cab. It won't cost more then $20.00, and the relief of not dealing with the crowds is worth it.
Traveling between resorts is another example of when it would be more convenient to take a cab. Disney does not provide buses between the resorts. This means you need to travel to a park, from your resort, to get a bus to travel to the resort you are visiting. This can take 1 ½ to 2 hours. If you take a cab, you are there within minutes.
